The Center for Specialized Analytical Control in the Field of Environmental Protection under the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a series of training seminars for students of the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers."
Participants of the training seminar became familiar with the concept of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM). They were also provided with information about international conventions in the field of chemicals and waste management: the Basel, Rotterdam, Stockholm and Minamata conventions.
The training seminar was held in an interactive form. Four working groups were formed: Chemicals in Agriculture, Chemicals in Industry, Chemicals in Products, Eco-Leaders and Chemical Safety. Following the work of each group, a presentation was held.
The seminar participants also visited the CSAC laboratories. Practical classes were organized for them to determine residual quantities of pesticides in environmental objects and familiarization with the work of the CSAC Mobile Environmental Laboratory.
